Advice Column: Ask Hattie

Dear Hattie,

I'm pretty certain that my husband is having an affair. I haven't approached him about it, and I'm really in no position to leave him.

Why do men think they can act this way?

Dear Broken Flower,

Men act this way because we let them. Follow your heart and do not fall into the trappings of luxury and complacency.

Blind Item

Yesterday afternoon, at the East Egg home of the Tom Buchanans, a certain golf gal was said to have been "making eyes" with a Midwest transplant who's moved to West Egg.

According to sources, Nick Carraway, a Yale classmate of Tom Buchanan and cousin to Daisy Buchanan, has settled into a cottage beside the palacial party paradise of Jay Gatsby.

I hear that Carraway and our little hole in one had a lovely afternoon, despite their hulking host rambling about "beating down the colored races" and accepting a phone call from an alleged mistress in Queens.

We hear that Carraway is a gentleman through and through, so if you're ever in West Egg, or at the libation lounge that is the home of Mr. Gatsby, be sure to ring up our newest neighbor.
